About your hosts

The land

The property is 160 acres of mixed bush and old field, with frontage on Christie Lake. We keep trails cleared for walking and snowshoeing, share a dock with a canoe and a couple of kayaks, and mostly try to leave the rest of it to the deer, the turkeys and the barred owls.

The area

Perth is one of the prettiest small towns in Ontario — a walkable heritage downtown, good restaurants, a Saturday farmers’ market, and the Tay Basin right in the middle of it. You’re also close to Murphys Point Provincial Park, the Rideau Canal locks, and miles of quiet cycling on the Tay Trail. Ottawa is about an hour away when you want a bigger day out.
