The Cedar Cabin

Our tiny cedar log cabin, one of two unique cabins that we offer on the property, nestled on 160 acres of beautiful lush forest. A tiny hand built log cabin, located in a private setting surrounded by nature, wildlife is abundant. Take a Hike on the trails, explore, relax the night in a comfy queen sized bed, have a morning coffee in front of the wood stove, grab one of the supplied canoes or kayaks and head out on the lake, or sit and enjoy a relaxing night by the fireplace or campfire!

We welcome you for a visit! 250 sq ft of a fun and unique living space, a beautiful glass front wood stove for heat (only heat source) and ambiance , a basic but cute hand crafted kitchen, with a loft bedroom and queen size bed. There is a fire pit to enjoy an evening campfire, picnic table, bbq, hammock, in the late spring to early fall there is an outdoor screened in shelter and seasonal outdoor shower. We also supply firewood, propane, water and many small items such as paper towels, fire starters, cups, kettle, pots and pans, cloths, all bedding, extra blankets, and much more. We do not have a refrigerator so we suggest a cooler. It is off grid so power is limited to mostly lighting from a small solar system and battery lights. The toilet is outside, outhouse. The cabin is located in a separate private area from our other cabin, the trails and lake access areas are SHARED spaces.

located in a private area of the forest, but still close enough to the main road and houses to feel not too secluded, shared trail use with our other cabin, “The Hemlock” also located on the same 160 acres of land, also shared water access. Accessible by vehicle from the main trail, the cabin is a short 200ft walk from parking.

Common areas for both cabins include the trails and water access. The water access is primarily to take a canoe or kayak out on the lake. The lake and islands are beautiful but the swimming is not great at the access location, so we suggest a few places a short paddle away that are good for swimming, fishing or exploring. The water is a short 5-8 minute hike down the main cottage road to the far side of the property. Outhouse only for washroom business. Wood stove is the only heat source, during the colder months the host will get a fire going and have the cabin warm for your arrival. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler for food or plan accordingly.
